Summer Schreiner, 15, said that if teachers and text books can deal with sex, she should not be punished for wearing a shirt referencing it.

A Florida teenager says she feels humiliated after school officials made her change her clothes because she showed up to class wearing a T-shirt that read "Don't drink & park. Accidents cause kids."

"I was pretty upset. I thought it was silly," Summer Schreiner, 15, told MyFoxOrlando.com. "It's not like I was wearing a curse word or something that was promoting violence."

Schreiner said an assistant principal at Clearlake Middle School in Cocoa, Fla., told her to take off the shirt, which she got at a Christian conference, because it was "inappropriate."

"They actually had her take off the shirt and put on a T-shirt the school issues for inappropriate dress, Schreiner's mother, Angela Hogan, told the local station.

"And the shirt they had her put on says, 'Tomorrow I will dress for success.'"

Schreiner said the incident was especially hurtful because the conference, Silver Ring Thing, is very meaningful to her.

The gathering, held at spots across the country, asks teens to vow not to have sex until marriage. Teens who make the pledge are given a silver ring.

"That is what upsets her more," Hogan said. "It was really humiliating for her because she came dressed for success."

The school, however, is sticking by its decision that the shirt is inappropriate.

"This is not a situation of whether or not the district agrees or disagrees with sexual abstinence among teenagers," said Michelle Irwin, the director of communications for the Brevard County school district.

"It's about the fact there is sexual innuendo on the shirt, and so we believe it violated our dress code policy."

Schreiner says sex is not an off-limits topic at the school, so she doesn't understand why her shirt can't reference it.

"If they teach you about sex in the textbooks and stuff and that's in a textbook, why can't I wear something that is related to it on a T-shirt??
